For EVVeryone is a collection of programs, services and facilities offered at Evansville Regional Airport (EVV) to accommodate our passengers and visitors of all abilities.
Whether you are starting or ending your travel journey with us at EVV, special assistance and resources are available to all passengers.
Not every disability is visible.
Plan your Sunflower-friendly journey.
EVV is a proud and honored member of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program to
support travelers with hidden disabilities such as autism, PTSD or hearing loss. First pioneered at
Gatwick International Airport in London, the Sunflower lanyards, bracelets and pins communicate that
passengers wearing them may need a little extra help while traveling. The program is recognized in a
growing number of domestic and international airports, including many of EVV’s connecting hub and
destination airports. Program participation is voluntary. Passengers may pickup free Sunflower lanyards,
bracelets or pins at the pre-security Information Desk located across from the TSA Screening Checkpoint.
Passengers should continue to coordinate with their airlines and/or
TSA Cares for pre-travel questions and accommodation arrangements.
About the Sunflower Program
Do I qualify to wear the Sunflower?
+-
There is no qualifying list of hidden disabilities. If you have a hidden disability and feel that
you would benefit from wearing a Hidden Disabilities Sunflower product, please do.
Where at EVV can I pick up the Sunflower
+-
You can pick up a Hidden Disabilities Sunflower lanyard, bracelet or pin at the Information Desk
located across from TSA.
If I have a Sunflower lanyard or another item (bracelet or pin), what do I do next?
+-
Wear the item anytime you want others to know that you have a hidden disability. At EVV, we've
provided information to our employees about the program, including customer service, safety/operations,
airline, restaurant/retailer, parking, administration and Transportation Security Administration
personnel, to name a few.
Does wearing the Sunflower provide me special expedited screening?
+-
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower does not entitle the wearer to anything other than identifying
that you have a hidden disabili ty and that you may need some assistance, help or a little more time.
It is not a pass to be fast-tracked through security, nor for any other benefit. Please coordinate
with your airline at booking and/or with TSA Cares ahead of traveling to request special assistance.
Where can I expect others outside of EVV to recognize the Sunflower
+-
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program has been expanding across the globe, and here in the U.S.,
it’s recognized at a growing number of airports, including: CLT, DFW and SFB.
Partnering with local nonprofit partners to create sensory accessibility and inclusion.
Sensory tools are available for guests at the airline ticket counters and gate areas, TSA and EVV
Information Desk to help bring comfort and calm. The sensory tools are part of our
CAMSE (Cam’s Sensory Equipment) Kits, created by Autism Evansville Executive Director
and local mother of a child on the autism spectrum, Kelsey Schapker.
