EVANSVILLE, Ind., Dec. 10, 2019 — As part of its continuing efforts to drive economic development and investment in Indiana, AT&T* today announced that Evansville Regional Airport’s Air Commerce Park has been certified as being AT&T Fiber Ready.
“We’re investing in high-speed internet in urban and rural areas across Indiana using the latest wired and wireless technologies, and we are proud to highlight this park as one of many places in the Hoosier state where AT&T’s fiber infrastructure is in place and ready to help local businesses drive job creation,” said Bill Soards, president of AT&T Indiana.
“Positive, pro-business policies embraced by Indiana’s state and local elected officials continue to make our state a great place to invest,” Soards added. “And, I’d like to point out that our AT&T Indiana employees work tirelessly to deploy this fiber and other infrastructure that delivers high-speed internet access. Their dedication, combined with nearly $1.2 billion in AT&T investment over the last 3 years alone, enable Hoosiers to connect and innovate.”
In today’s world, connectivity is vital to businesses of every type. There’s no such thing as a “low-tech” venture anymore, so economic development leaders must be able to tout the presence of high-speed internet connectivity.
“Entrepreneurs and established entities alike are hungry for fiber-based services. We are happy to do anything we can to promote these services in our community,” said State Rep. Holli Sullivan. “This AT&T designation is one more way to help Evansville stand out from the pack.”
“The Fiber Ready certification provides a distinct advantage, when it comes to marketing and attracting potential investment,” said Evansville Regional Airport Executive Director Nate Hahn. “We applaud AT&T for adding yet another means of highlighting why Evansville is a great place to do business. The company continues to play an important and active role in community and economic development efforts in Southwest Indiana, and we’re happy to be a part of that progress at Evansville Regional Airport.”
Air Commerce Park is located on the property of the Evansville Regional Airport. The City of Evansville is situated within 50 miles of the median population line of the US. The park is intermodal with air taxiway and rail access sites available and has easy access to US Hwy 41, I-64 and I-69.
