Evansville Regional Airport is looking for a motivated individual to join our Maintenance Department.  The employee in this position will demonstrate the following: the repair and maintenance of a variety of automobiles, trucks, rescue and fire vehicles and snow removal equipment; determines the need and feasibility of both minor and major repairs on individual pieces of equipment; reports the need for major overhauls of equipment to supervisor.  Mechanics operate acetylene welder, cutting torch and electric welder; inspects, repairs and replaces necessary body and fender parts; rejuvenates rusted or damaged fenders and other related parts; paints vehicles and equipment.


GED or High School equivalent. Experience as a Journeyman Mechanic preferred.


Applicant must have considerable knowledge in the operation of internal combustion engines – both diesel and gasoline, and applicant must possess skills containing the usage of tools and the operation of machines and equipment employed in automotive repair and maintenance.  Applicant must have the ability to plan, assign and review the work of automotive mechanics and other employees engaged in automotive repair and servicing.  The applicant will be able to perform duties indoors and out-of-doors.  Incumbent must be in reasonable physical condition with physical strength and agility sufficient to perform manual labor over extended periods and under varying conditions. Applicant must be able to meet all departmental hiring and retention requirements, which are not limited to but include pre-employment drug screening, physical and all necessary Transportation Security Administration background checks.
